At the first Synbios conference we learned about the potential oil-price rise as well as the efficiency advantages and resource-base for second generation biofuels. Since, we have seen the effects of this in real life. Policies and industrial strategies to increase the use of biofuels have evolved. During the coming conference, the co-evolution of different policies and industrial strategies will be reviewed. Technological achievements will get attention and the potential synergies of fuel- and engine-development will be a further issue.
